After 30+ Years in the Entertainment and Event Production Industry, I Still Get By With A Little Help from My Friends
A quick shout out to my friend Ray Martinez who passed away recently. Many years ago he showed me an interactive game called “Word Association” that I could play at Bat Mitzvahs and Corporate events.
The beauty of this game is the fact that you do not need any special props, gear, or supplies to play it with your audience. As the event host and master of ceremonies- all you need is your microphone and professional skills to facilitate the action.
After 30+ years in the entertainment and event production industry, I’ve seen all kinds of gear and special FX-related bells and whistles come and go, but the one constant has been the ability to create a connection with your guests of all ages and help them celebrate life without relying on anyone or anything else.
So, cheers to you Ray, I’m grateful for you and all of my industry mentors who have shared- and continue to share- their best practices with me.
Special thanks to Stephanie Detore for the fabulous pics! It was a pleasure teaming up with you and helping Pomptonian Food Service execute another successful Manager’s Meeting at The Westmount Country Club.
Onwards and upwards!
